Books Upstairs
Dublin’s oldest independent bookshop, Books Upstairs was first opened in 1978 and in 2015 moved to its new location on D’Olier Street. With floors of expertly chosen books as well as a café serving a selection of delicious coffees and cakes, it’s the perfect place in the city to get lost in.

Books at One used their 2025 grant to display historic photos of the area for visitors to enjoy. They have also expanded their community event series, which includes author events and readings.
2026:
Books Upstairs will be hosting a series of exciting events engaging with Dublin’s literary past.
